All Life’s Strife

All life’s strife comes from the mind

It’s the poison you stir for yourself

When the day is over you start to unwind

What was never wound up at all

Wrestle with your thoughts all day

Crumple yourself on the bed and sleep

Another piece of life thrown away

It’s the beginning of your fall

All lives strive not to cease to exist

Some exist for something worthwhile

Most find it worthwhile to simply persist

What was it that you lived for?

This road has an end and a beginning

Someday you will reach your destination

And there you will find your life’s meaning

Washed up on the cold, empty shore
