Old Piece No. 1

Slowly, as the wheels turned and you burned away
With tears falling, arms grappling at your visage
Lonely but not alone hopes faded into decay
I lamented the passing of such mortal image

Where was my centre of gravity and wanton flair
The machination of a mind’s madness at full flow
Now there is naught but doleful despair
Nothing but your smile that glows so slow

* A spotty little piece I wrote all the way back in 2003. Notice the total disregard for rhythm in favour of amateur rhymes, though wish I still had the bull-headed lack of self-consciousness.
